J&K’s Aiyza Naz Chib Shines as India Wins Gold at 20th Asian Roller Hockey Championship
In a historic triumph for Indian roller sports, the Indian Senior Women’s Roller Hockey Team emerged victorious at the 20th Asian Roller Hockey Championship, clinching the Gold Medal in a riveting final match against New Zealand in Jecheon, South Korea. Held from July 19 to July 30, 2025, the tournament followed a round-robin format featuring seven national teams, with every team playing against each other. the participating teams included Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Hongkong China, P R of China,, Maccau China and India.
Among the standout performers was Aiyza Naz Chib, daughter of Police Inspector Sajad Haider (J&K Police), who became the first-ever athlete from Jammu & Kashmir to clinch gold medal in prestigious international event marking a historic debut on the global roller hockey stage.

Organized by World Skate Asia and supported by the Roller Skating Federation of India (RSFI), the event has spotlighted India as a rising force in the global roller hockey circuit.
