Traffic Advisory Issued for “J&K Nasha Mukt Abhiyan Padyatra-2026” in Kishtwar on June 6

Kishtwar, June 4: In view of the upcoming “J&K Nasha Mukt Abhiyan Padyatra-2026” scheduled to be held in Kishtwar town on Saturday, June 6, 2026, the Traffic Police NHW Ramban has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory to ensure smooth conduct of the event and public safety.
According to the advisory, the padyatra will commence from Chowgan Ground and proceed up to ITI College via Kuleed and Dak Banglow Chowk. To facilitate the movement of participants and dignitaries, several traffic diversions, restrictions, and parking arrangements will remain in force from 7:30 AM till the conclusion of the event.
Traffic authorities have informed that all vehicular movement on the designated padyatra route will remain restricted during the movement of participants. Vehicles arriving from Shalimar, Drabshalla, and Saroor areas will be diverted from Shaheedi Chowk towards Government Degree College Ground, where they will be parked after dropping passengers. Similarly, vehicles coming from Chatroo and Mughal Maidan will be required to park at the Try Ground near DPO, while vehicles from Dool-Paddar areas will be parked at FCI Ground Waseer and along the Dool-Paddar road on NH-244 after deboarding passengers.
The advisory further states that government employees participating in the rally should park their vehicles inside ITI Ground well before the arrival of VIPs. Escort vehicles accompanying senior dignitaries and officers will be diverted and parked at TRC Kishtwar. No vehicle will be permitted beyond the designated cutoff points on the padyatra route after 7:30 AM.
Special arrangements have also been made for emergency services. Medical emergency vehicles from Mughal Maidan, Chatroo, Dool, and Paddar areas will be allowed to access District Hospital Kishtwar through designated alternative routes via Giri Nagar, Hatta, Sarkoot, Bonasthan, Hadyal Chowk, and Bus Stand areas.
The Traffic Police has advised commuters and participants to plan their journeys in advance, avoid parking along the padyatra and VIP routes, maintain lane discipline, refrain from overloading vehicles, and cooperate with traffic personnel deployed during the event. Authorities have warned that any violation of the advisory or traffic regulations will attract legal action under the relevant provisions of law.
Appealing for public cooperation, the Traffic Police stated that a large turnout is expected for the anti-drug awareness march and requested citizens to adhere to the advisory for the smooth and hassle-free conduct of the programme. The department has also expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to the public due to the temporary restrictions.
