Sinthan Top, Jammu & Kashmir – A large-scale rescue operation at Sinthan Pass has been successfully completed, with all approximately 150 vehicles and their occupants, who were stranded due to adverse weather conditions, now safely evacuated. The joint efforts of the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) and the local administration have ensured the smooth and secure escort of all vehicles from Sinthan Top towards Daksum.
The operation, which was necessitated by heavy snowfall and inclement weather, saw a coordinated response from the on-ground teams. NHIDCL, responsible for maintaining critical high-altitude road networks, played a pivotal role alongside the local administration in managing the challenging terrain and ensuring the well-being of the stranded individuals.
“We are pleased to inform that the rescue operation for approximately 150 vehicles stranded at Sinthan Pass has been successfully completed,” stated a joint release from NHIDCL and the administration. “All vehicles are now being safely escorted and brought down from Sinthan Top towards Daksum. The situation is under control, and all necessary measures have been taken to ensure the safety of the passengers.”
