KISHTWAR POLICE ARRESTS 05 ACCUSED PERSONS INCLUDING 02 WOMEN IN MURDER CASE AT MARWAH
Kishtwar, June 07, 2026:
In a swift action, Kishtwar Police has arrested five accused persons, including two women, in connection with the murder of a woman in the Marwah area of District Kishtwar.
SSP Kishtwar Sh. Naresh Singh-JKPS, while sharing the details, stated that today on 07.06.2026 at about 02:30 PM, one complainant namely Sh. Gulam Ahmad S/O Ghulam Mohd Magray R/O Pethgam Marwah lodged a written report at Police Station Marwah stating therein that his wife namely Zaina Begum W/O Sh. Gulam Ahmad Magray R/O Pethgam Marwah was allegedly beaten to death by the following persons:
- Ghulam Haider Malik S/o Ghulam Ahmed Malik
- Zahoor Ahmad Malik
- Imtiyaz Ahmad Malik
- Muzaffar Ahmad Malik
All sons of Ghulam Haider Malik - Shahina Begum W/O Zahoor Ahmad Malik
- Sara Begum W/O Ghulam Haider Malik
All residents of Pethgam Marwah.
On the basis of the complaint, a case FIR No. 05/2026 under Sections 103/126(2)/191(2)/351(2)/352 BNS has been registered at Police Station Marwah and investigation was immediately taken up.
SSP Kishtwar further stated that acting swiftly, a special team led by SHO Police Station Marwah along with his team arrested 05 accused persons involved in the case, including two women accused, while one accused namely Muzaffar Ahmad S/O Ghulam Haider Malik fled from the spot and efforts are on to apprehend him at the earliest.
After conducting medico-legal formalities and postmortem examination, the dead body of the deceased was handed over to the legal heirs for last rites.
