Chatroo: In a significant move to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship among the youth, the J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB) organized a one-day awareness camp at Chatroo, Kishtwar. The event, held under the overall supervision of District Officer KVIB Kishtwar, aimed to inform aspiring entrepreneurs and unemployed youth about various government schemes and programs.
The camp was a collaborative effort, with officials from the KVIB, including the Deputy CEO, providing detailed presentations on schemes like the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and the J&K Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP). They emphasized the importance of these initiatives in creating job opportunities and fostering a culture of self-reliance, especially among women and marginalized communities.
Prominent personalities and officials attended the event, including Muzaffar Allaqband, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of J&K KVIB. His presence highlighted the board’s commitment to reaching out to the grassroots level and ensuring that the benefits of these schemes are accessible to all. The participants were encouraged to apply online for financial assistance and were provided with detailed information on the eligibility criteria and application processes.
The awareness camp at Chatroo is part of a series of such events being organized by the KVIB across the region to empower the youth and contribute to the economic development of Jammu and Kashmir.
