15–20 Vehicles Stranded at Sinthan Top, Rescue Operation Underway
Kishtwar, March 15:
Around 15 to 20 vehicles got stranded at Sinthan Top on Sunday due to sudden snowfall and slippery road conditions, prompting authorities to launch a rescue operation to assist the stranded passengers.
According to reports, fresh snowfall in the upper reaches of Sinthan Top made the road extremely slippery, causing several vehicles to get stuck on the highway. Passengers travelling in these vehicles faced difficulties due to the harsh weather and freezing temperatures.
Soon after receiving the information, district administration, police, and local rescue teams rushed to the spot and started a rescue operation to evacuate the stranded passengers and move the vehicles to safer locations. Snow clearance machines have also been deployed to clear the road and restore traffic movement.
Officials said that the rescue operation is currently in progress, and efforts are being made to safely evacuate all the stranded passengers. Authorities have advised people to avoid travelling towards Sinthan Top until weather conditions improve.
It is worth mentioning that recent heavy rains and snowfall in the region have frequently disrupted traffic movement on the Sinthan Top road, causing inconvenience to travellers. The administration is closely monitoring the situation.
