Two Police Officials Suspended Over Youth’s Killing in Jammu; SIT Constituted
Jammu, Jul 25 (BAN) In a major development following the controversial killing of a youth in Jammu, two police officials from the District Special Branch have been placed under suspension pending investigation.
An order copy which lies with the News Agency Buland Awaaz (BAN) reads that the suspension comes in connection with case FIR No. 153/2025, registered on July 24, 2025, at Police Station Satwari under sections 109(1), 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and 3/27 of the Arms Act.
The officials suspended are Head Constable Baljinder Singh and Selection Grade Constable Pawan Singh.
Both officials have been directed to report to the District Police Lines (DPL) Jammu and deposit their uniform articles in the DPL store. They will, however, continue to receive subsistence allowance as per the rules during the suspension period.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has also been constituted to probe the circumstances surrounding the youth’s death. Meanwhile, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), Jammu, has been tasked with conducting a departmental inquiry against the suspended personnel.
The inquiry officer has been instructed to complete the proceedings on merit and submit a report at the earliest.-
