Two Brothers Drown in River Chenab in Doda District of Jammu and Kashmir
In a tragic incident, two boys drowned in the River Chenab in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. As per reports, the boys were playing cricket near the riverbank when they ventured close to the water. Unfortunately, the strong currents of the Chenab washed them away.
On receiving the information, local residents immediately launched a rescue operation. Soon, teams from District Police Doda, SDRF, civil administration, and NGOs including Ababeel and Chenab Rescuers also joined the efforts to trace the boys.
However, as darkness fell the rescue operation had to be called off for the night. The search resumed early this morning and is still in progress.
The boys who were real brothers have been identified as Abrar Ahmed and Asrar Ahmed sons of Farooq Ahmed, residents of the Pul Doda area.
