NEW TRAFFIC SCHEDULE ISSUED FOR KISHTWAR-SINTHAN ROAD; MOVEMENT TO COMMENCE FROM APRIL 14

Following clearance from the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), the Office of the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Chhatroo, has issued a formal order to regulate the movement of Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) on the Kishtwar–Sinthan Road via Sinthan Top.
The new regulations aim to ensure commuter safety and smooth traffic flow. Travelers are advised to strictly adhere to the following guidelines:
Traffic Schedule & Timings
Movement will be permitted daily between 10:00 AM and 03:00 PM only, strictly subject to fair weather conditions. The traffic will follow a one-way rotation based on dates:
- Even Dates (April 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30): Movement allowed only from Kishtwar towards Sinthan/Kashmir side.
- Odd Dates (April 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29): Movement allowed only from Kashmir side towards Kishtwar.
⚠️ Important Restrictions
- Checkpoint Cut-off: No vehicle will be allowed to cross the Parna Check Post, Chingam, beyond the prescribed time of 03:00 PM under any circumstances.
- Speed Monitoring: The DTI Kishtwar has been directed to conduct random speed checks to ensure the safety of passengers on the mountainous terrain.
- Strict Enforcement: The SHO Chhatroo has been tasked with the uncompromising enforcement of this schedule
