Jammu, Sept 30: The Directorate of School Education Jammu has implemented new timings for both government and private schools across the division effective October. This change reflects the department’s ongoing efforts to streamline educational schedules for the benefit of students.
According to the official order, schools located in the Summer Zone will commence operations from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM starting in October. As temperatures begin to drop in November, the schedule will shift to 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. This adjustment aims to optimize learning conditions for students and align school hours with the changing weather.
For schools situated within the Jammu Municipal Corporation limits and nearby urbanities, the 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM schedule will remain unchanged. This consistency ensures that urban students do not face unnecessary disruptions in their daily academic routines.
In stark contrast, schools in the Winter Zone will function from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, commencing on October 1. The adjustments reflect the climatic conditions prevalent in these areas where a later start helps mitigate the impact of cold weather on students’ attendance and focus.
The Directorate has issued a stern warning stating that strict action will be taken against any institution that fails to comply with these new timings. Officials emphasize the importance of adherence to regulations, as maintaining consistent educational schedules is crucial for student performance and well-being.
Education stakeholders in Jammu have expressed mixed reactions to the changes. While many welcome the new timings as a necessary alignment with environmental conditions, some parents are concerned about the earlier start times in the Winter Zone. Local education authorities assure that these changes have been well-considered with students’ best interests in mind.
The department will monitor schools closely to ensure compliance with the new timetable, especially as the winter season approaches. The emphasis lies not only on time management but also on enhancing the overall educational experience for children across Jammu.
