Mandatory Zonal-Level Training and Competition Programme for Cook-cum-Helpers under PM POSHAN (MDM) Scheme Held at KGBV Mughalmaidan, Zone Inderwal
A mandatory zonal-level training and competition programme for Cook-cum-Helpers (CCHs) under the PM POSHAN (Mid-Day Meal) Scheme was successfully organized at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV), Mughalmaidan, Zone Inderwal. The programme aimed to enhance the knowledge and practical skills of Cook-cum-Helpers in the areas of hygiene, food safety, nutritional standards, menu planning, proper cooking practices, storage of food grains, and cleanliness of kitchens and utensils, as prescribed under the PM POSHAN guidelines.
The event was masterminded by the esteemed Master Trainers Mr. Rifaz Ahmed Malik and Mr. Sheraz Hussain Malik, under the supervision of Mr. Akhter Rasool Sheikh, who imparted their expertise and knowledge to the participants. The evaluation committee comprised Mr. Abdul Latif Banday, Mr. Ajaz Ahmad Wani, Mr. Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din, Mr. Wasif Iqbal, Mr. Mohd. Rafiq, and other members, who evaluated the competition programme. Their guidance and support played a pivotal role in making the programme a success.
During the event, a healthy cooking competition was also conducted among the Cook-cum-Helpers to encourage innovation, teamwork, and adherence to the prescribed nutritional norms. Participants prepared nutritious meals using locally available ingredients while strictly following hygiene and food safety protocols. The competition was evaluated on parameters such as cleanliness, nutritional value, taste, presentation, and adherence to PM POSHAN norms.
The officials highlighted the crucial role of Cook-cum-Helpers in the successful implementation of the PM POSHAN Scheme and appreciated their dedication towards providing nutritious meals to school children. They emphasized that such training programmes help in capacity building, ensuring better health, improved attendance, and overall well-being of students.
The programme concluded with an address by the Tehsildar, Mughalmaidan , followed by the distribution of appreciation certificates and a vote of thanks to all participants and organizers for making the event successful.
