KISHTWAR, J&K – In a developing situation, relentless heavy rainfall in the region has caused a major landslide at Km 172 on the Kishtwar-bound national highway, near Shinthan. The landslide, which occurred at approximately , has completely blocked the road, leaving three vehicles stranded on the affected stretch.
According to reports from the ground, no casualties have been reported so far, and all passengers are confirmed to be safe. Local authorities, in coordination with emergency response teams, are on-site to assess the situation and initiate rescue and road-clearing operations.
The Kishtwar Police and District Administration have advised the public to avoid the route and refrain from any non-essential travel towards the area. Efforts are underway to clear the debris, but the ongoing heavy rainfall is hampering the progress.
