*Fisheries Staff Safeguard Fish Farm Mughalmaidan Amid Flash Floods*

Kishtwar, August 30: Torrential rains and flash floods in Mughalmaidan this week put the Fish Farm Mughalmaidan in grave danger, but timely efforts by employees of the Fisheries Department saved the farm from major damage.

Despite heavy rainfall and the constant threat of flooding, the staff worked round-the-clock to strengthen embankments, clear drainage channels, and secure fish stock and equipment. Their swift action was widely appreciated by locals, who said the farm might have suffered irreparable losses without their intervention.

Speaking to reporters, staff members highlighted the risks they faced while performing their duties under extreme weather conditions. They urged the government to sanction *risk allowance and to restore the two-and-a-half-day salary* benefit, which they said would serve as recognition of their service in such difficult circumstances.

Officials have assured that restoration work will continue, while long-term measures are being explored to protect the fish farm from future natural disasters.
