In a decisive move to address road safety concerns, traffic disruptions, and environmental hazards, District Magistrate Kishtwar Rajesh Kumar Shavan has issued an order prohibiting road digging and dumping of construction waste on two critical road stretches i.e Malipeth to Sangrambhatta and Kuleed Chowk to the New DC Office Complex (Zellana Road). This prohibition, effective immediately, aims to curb illegal practices that compromise public safety, damage infrastructure, and disrupt traffic flow. The administration had observed frequent cases of unauthorized road excavations and indiscriminate dumping of construction debris, causing severe obstructions and environmental degradation.
Key Concerns Addressed by the Order are Public Safety, Infrastructure Preservation,Environmental Protection and Traffic Flow Management.
“No individual, organization, or government agency is permitted to undertake road excavation or digging, dumping of construction waste along the specified stretches is strictly forbidden” The order reads.
The administration has called for the cooperation of all stakeholders, emphasizing that the success of this initiative hinges on public support. Strict monitoring will ensure swift action against violators.
