15 Illegal Structures Demolished in Anantnag Amid Crackdown

The District Administration of Anantnag has intensified its campaign against drug peddlers by demolishing 15 illegal structures in Waghama, Bijbehara on Saturday. This action is part of the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign, aimed at dismantling narcotics networks and eliminating illegal assets linked to drug trafficking.

Authorities conducted the operation jointly with revenue personnel and the police, targeting illegally constructed shops on State and Kahcharai land. Specifically, the efforts focused on Khasra Nos. 2494 (min) and 2495 (min), where these illegal structures linked to narcotic activities were located.

This demolition not only signifies a strong move against drug-related crimes but also aims to recover encroached State and Kahcharai lands, demonstrating the administration’s commitment to reclaiming public property.

The District Administration has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against drug peddlers and unlawful encroachments. Officials confirmed that they will continue to take strict actions throughout the campaign to dismantle properties associated with the drug trade. Breaking the supply chain of narcotics is crucial for restoring safety and order in the district.

In addition to the demolitions, authorities issued a resolute warning to anyone engaged in drug-related activities or illegal land encroachments. Violators will face stringent legal consequences as the crackdown intensifies.

In a statement, an official highlighted, “Dismantling these structures is vital to disrupt the narcotics supply chain, and we urge local communities to support our efforts for a cleaner environment free of drugs.” The combined resolve of the administration and law enforcement reflects a robust approach towards eradicating drug abuse.

The Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign emphasizes the collaborative efforts across departments to ensure comprehensive measures against drug-related issues. The demolitions in Waghama mark a significant progress point in this broader initiative.
