*KISHTWAR POLICE KISHTWAR ARRESTS NOTORIOUS  THEIF*

Kishtwar, Dec. 09, 2025:

District Police Kishtwar achieved a major breakthrough by arresting a notorious burglar involved in a vehicle theft case and recovering a stolen car, in addition to seizing heroin-like narcotic substance from his possession.

*SSP Kishtwar, Sh. Naresh Singh–JKPS,* while sharing the details, informed that a written complaint was lodged by Maqbool Hussain S/O Mohd Anwar, resident of Mainpura Mughalmaidan A/P Sangrambhata, regarding the theft of his Maruti car bearing registration number JK17/0544 from Sangrambhata, near a petrol pump.

Acting on the complaint, a case FIR No. 244/2025 U/S 303(2) BNS was registered at Police Station Kishtwar, and investigation was taken up promptly.

During the course of investigation, a dedicated police team led by SHO PS Kishtwar Insp. Firdous Ahmed, assisted by SI Lal Hussain, under the supervision of *Addl. SP Kishtwar Sh. Pardeep Singh Goria-JKPS & DySP Hqrs Kishtwar Dr. Ishan Gupta–JKPS*, apprehended the accused person identified as Reyaz Ahmed S/O Mohd Iqbal R/O Indera Nagar, Kishtwar. Upon his disclosure, the stolen vehicle JK17/0544 was recovered from Batote.

Furthermore, during the personal search of the accused, the police recovered 02 grams of heroin-like narcotic substance from his possession. Consequently, a separate case FIR No. 246/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Kishtwar.

Investigation in both cases is ongoing to determine the involvement of any possible accomplices and to trace the source of the recovered narcotic substance.
