Subject: Updated Status of Rescue and Relief Operations following Cloudburst Incident in Kishtwar
KISHTWAR: In response to the devastating cloudburst incident in CHASOTI PADDAR Kishtwar, the Jammu and Kashmir Emergency Medical Service (JKEMS) – 108 has been actively involved in the ongoing rescue and relief operations, working in close coordination with the District Administration, Army, Police, NDRF, and SDRF.
Here is the updated status of patients and rescue efforts as of 7:00 AM on August 16, 2025:
Patient Transportation and Treatment:
* A total of 77 patients have been served by JKEMS – 108 ambulances.
* 21 patients have been successfully shifted from the incident site at Chasoti to the nearby Paddar.
* 25 patients were further shifted from Paddar to District Hospital Kishtwar for advanced medical care.
* Currently, 31 patients are being shifted from District Hospital Kishtwar to GMC Jammu and Udhampur for specialized treatment.
Deceased Transportation:
* 32 deceased individuals are being transported to different locations for necessary procedures.
Ambulance Status:
* A total of 47 ambulances are deployed for the rescue operation.
* 14 ambulances are currently busy shifting patients and deceased to various locations.
* 4 ambulances are on standby at the incident site (Chasoti) for immediate response.
* 29 ambulances are available at present in Paddar and Kishtwar to assist in any emerging situation.
Rescue operations are ongoing and the JKEMS – 108 is committed to providing all possible support in this humanitarian crisis. The department is continuously monitoring the situation and ensuring that all necessary medical assistance and resources are mobilized to assist those in need.
