CHATROO, July 10, 2025: Several vehicles are currently stranded near Sinthan Pass in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district due to flash floods triggered by heavy rainfall. A swift rescue operation has been launched, with the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHDCL) team fully deployed at the site.
Continuous downpours in and around the Sinthan Pass area have led to a significant rise in water levels, causing waterlogging on the road and trapping several vehicles. While there are no reports of casualties so far, rescue teams are working diligently, exercising extreme caution due to the ongoing situation.
The NHDCL team is actively engaged in clearing the road and recovering the stranded vehicles. Commuters are strongly advised to check road conditions before planning any travel towards Sinthan Pass and to avoid non-essential journeys for the time being. The district administration is closely monitoring the situation and providing all necessary support for the rescue efforts.
