Restoration Work in Progress on NH244 Near Kandni, Kishtwar
The National Highway 244 near Kandni Kishtwar remains blocked following a heavy landslide that occurred yesterday. As a precautionary measure, traffic movement has been suspended from both sides to ensure the safety and security of passengers. Several vehicles are stranded near the affected site.
The concerned department has deployed men and machinery to clear the debris and restoration work is actively underway. However despite sustained efforts the road has not yet been reopened to traffic.
Traffic police personnel are present at the site working to ensure safe conditions for travelers. They have appealed to the public to cooperate fully to expedite the restoration process.
Meanwhile, some vehicles have opted to take the alternate route via Drabshalla–Sarthal–Hasti link road to avoid inconvenience. Authorities urge all travelers to remain patient and follow instructions from field staff and traffic officials to ensure the road is restored in the shortest possible time.
